Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and Jerome Coloma for your use of the Commonkeep app. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Commonkeep.

What Commonkeep is

Commonkeep is a shared shopping list for a household. You add items, group them by store, take a list shopping in trip mode, and share the whole thing with the people you live with. That is all it is. It is not a retailer, a payment service, a price comparison service, or a delivery service, and it has no relationship with any of the shops you might name in it. Store names in the app are free text that you type yourself.

Your account

You need an account to use Commonkeep. You sign in with a code sent to your email address: there is no password. You are responsible for keeping access to that mailbox secure, because anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Tell us at commonkeepapp@tallbottech.com.au if you believe someone else has access to your account.

Commonkeep is intended for general use by adults and is not directed at children. Do not create an account if you are not able to agree to these terms.

Households and invitations

A household is a shared space. Everything in it, including every item and the exact line you typed or dictated for it, every store, every trip and the prices recorded on it, and the full activity log, is visible to every member. Members also see each other's display names. Email addresses are never shared between members.

Your content

Your lists are yours. You keep ownership of everything you put into Commonkeep. You give us only the permission we need to actually run the service for you: to store your content, sync it between your devices, and show it to the other members of your household. We do not use your content to train anything, sell it, or show you advertising. Commonkeep uses no AI models and no analytics. See the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for the content you add, and for having the right to add it.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Price, availability, and changes

Commonkeep is free. There is no subscription and nothing to buy inside the app. We may introduce paid features in future, but anything you have already added will remain accessible to you.

The service is provided as it is and as available. There is no uptime guarantee and no support commitment. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of Commonkeep, and may stop offering it altogether. If we plan to shut the service down, we will make a reasonable effort to tell you beforehand at your sign-in address so you can copy anything you need. The app has no export feature today, so a shutdown notice is the practical warning you get.

We may update these terms as the app changes. Updates are posted here with a new date at the top. Continuing to use Commonkeep after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using Commonkeep at any time, and can ask us to delete your account by email. See Delete your account.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these terms, that is being used to abuse other people, or that puts the service or other users at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right first. If your account is terminated, households where you were the last member may be deleted along with their contents.

Backups and loss of data

Please do not treat Commonkeep as the only copy of anything that matters. We take reasonable care, but we do not promise that your lists will never be lost or corrupted, and there is no export or restore feature. A household deleted by its last member cannot be recovered.

Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, Commonkeep is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. In particular, we do not warrant that the app will be available or uninterrupted, that voice capture or automatic parsing of what you type will interpret it correctly, that prices you record are accurate or current, or that data will sync without delay when a device has been offline.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jerome Coloma will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profit, or opportunity, arising from your use of or inability to use Commonkeep. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to resupplying the service or, at our option, the amount you paid for it, which for a free app is nothing.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other consumer protection law that cannot be excluded. If you are a consumer under that law, those rights apply in addition to these terms and prevail over anything here that conflicts with them.

Third parties

Sign-in codes are delivered by an email provider on our behalf. Your use of the app is also subject to the terms of the app store you obtained it from, and to your device operating system's terms for features such as speech recognition. Those are agreements between you and those companies, not us.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and the courts of Australia have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. If you are a consumer in another country, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of the law where you live.
